For more than three decades, fans, sponsors and legends of the racing world have been gathering over a mile high in the sky to celebrate, congregate and, most importantly, race! The annual summer event takes places at none other than Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo., which sits 5,800 feet high in the Rocky Mountains, where the air may be thinner, but the racing culture is thicker.

Mopar's sponsorship of the event is the longest continuous-running sponsorship in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, and serves as the opener of the 2012 NHRA Western Swing.
Flying the Mopar flag high and proud for the event will be Mopar Dodge Avenger NHRA Pro Stock veteran Allen Johnson, who is aiming for his sixth straight final-round appearance at Bandimere Speedway. Joining Johnson in the Pro Stock field will be four-time champion Jeg Coughlin Jr., who pilots the Mopar/JEGS.com Dodge Avenger, and Matt Hagan, the defending NHRA Funny Car champion, who will sport special Mopar graphics on his Dodge Charger R/T.
Kicking off the weekend will be the 11th annual Mopar Big Block Party on Thursday, July 19, on the scenic streets of downtown Golden, Colo., where Mopar will host autograph sessions with both current and historical racers, live concerts, Mopar product demonstrations, food and fun.
