The metro Detroit area was firmly in the grip of
“cruisin’ fever’ last weekend. Little wonder. The
annual Woodward Dream Cruise is always a fun …. and FREE
… chance to pull up a lawn chair along the 16-mile Woodward
Avenue route and revel in the parade of classic memories of years
… and models … gone by.
But, as much fun as it is to watch, there’s one group of
cruisers that will tell you … the real excitement is being
part of all the action, both on and off Woodward. For the second
year in a row, LX Forum members kick-started
Dream Cruise weekend with a “Woodward BBQ” at the Walter P.
Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills.
This year, Dodge, Mopar and Chrysler LX models filled the museum
parking lot, creating a veritable rainbow of colorful LX history
that sparkled in the bright sunlight. Owners couldn’t wait to
pop the hoods and open the trunks on their creations to show off
unique custom touches that became real conversation starters with
other owners.
About two hundred fifty vehicles in all registered for last
Friday’s museum gathering. That includes owners from down the
street to places like Ontario and Ohio. Many brought their families
to share the fun of swapping car stories, enjoying hot dogs on the
grill and, most of all, looking forward to sharing their passion
with more than one million Dream Cruise fans the next day.
You’re invited to share in some of the highlights of the LX
Forum museum event in the video below!
