The room got quite a charge from the unveiling of the all-new Fiat
500e. The cute little Fiat is a very buzz-worthy addition to the
Cinquecento lineup.
This new electric recharges in less than four hours and delivers
more than 80 miles of estimated range with city driving exceeding
100 miles with zero tailpipe emissions. It gets an estimated 116
miles-per-gallon (city) equivalent of pure battery-electric
power.
On the inside, the 500e spotlights a retro-futuristic design that
includes an electronic shifter with easy-to-use push-button
transmission mode selection. The seven-inch instrument cluster
displays full-color picture graphics. A TomTom Navigation unit lets
the driver check out the vehicle’s charge schedule, range and
can even request locations for nearby charging stations. The Fiat
500e smartphone app can also keep drivers plugged into their 500e
by locating charging stations and tracking your energy use.
The all-new 2013 Fiat 500e arrives at FIAT Studios in California in
2013.
Another new Fiat dazzled at the media preview in LA today. The
all-new 2014 Fiat 500L made a splash with its seating for
five, 42% more interior space and two additional doors. Some of the
Fiat 500L highlights include a trendsetting interior that gives a
nearly 360-degree panoramic view of the road. The Fiat 500L
Trekking offers a blend of rugged styling and versatility that
compliments an active lifestyle.
The Fiat 500 goes topless for the debut of the new Fiat 500c
Abarth. The Fiat 500c Abarth combines turbocharged, track-capable
performance with a clever open-top design. The cloth top retracts
with just the push of a button.

Why is the 500e going to be California only? I'm certain that there are people in all 50 states who would want one, me included. At least make it a special order item at all the Fiat studios. Don't make this a California compliance car.
