(Jason
Vines is the vice president of communications at The New
Chrysler)
Our new blog is just getting off the ground and we're anxious to
have an open and honest dialogue with our customers, potential
customers and employees.
First, I want to thank all the people who took the time to comment.
We’ve been reading every single one that’s come in, and
some of those comments just seemed to beg for a response.
That’s what I’ll try to do with this post.
To everyone who wished us well for being back in American
hands—thanks! I’d say everyone at Chrysler sees our
change in ownership and new-found autonomy as a plus. But let me
add that during those nine years of the merger, many of us made
some wonderful friendships with our counterparts in Stuttgart. It
was sad to see our German colleagues leave Auburn Hills.
Daimler retains an ownership stake in The New Chrysler, and many
joint projects are still moving forward. There’s no bad
blood. The people at Daimler are our partners … and we look
forward to sharing their safety and fuel-saving technologies for
years to come. Our technology-sharing with Daimler, like clean
diesel engines and hybrid technology, will help us improve the
fuel-efficiency of our lineup, something important to our customers
and our nation, as we seek to lessen our country’s dependence
on foreign oil.
Now, to those of you who commented on Bob Nardelli’s
appointment as CEO. A fresh set of eyes from outside the industry
can find new and better ways of doing things. Our owners at
Cerberus think Bob’s incredible track record in successfully
running the many businesses he did, at General Electric and on the
retail side of Home Depot, can speed up the recovery of The New
Chrysler. Everyone’s future at Chrysler—our employees,
our dealers, our retirees, our supplier partners—rests on a
sustainable recovery. We know that. More power to him, if you ask
me.
To our Canadian friends disappointed that the lifetime warranty
doesn’t apply to them, we understand your feelings and mean
no disrespect. Unfortunately, there is a law in some Canadian
provinces that would not allow us to offer the same warranty we are
offering in the U.S.
I’m checking the comments and will post answers from time to
time. Talk again soon.

Jason,
As an "old Chrysler guy", I am excited about the "new Chrysler"! We obviously have much to do, but hopefully our new found independence will allow us to do the things we have to in order to be successful. I have been through mergers, acquisition's, buyouts, brushes with bankruptcies, etc., and hope that after our most recent "marriage", we can right the ship! There have been many good people who have left the company during the Daimler years, but I know there are still many very dedicated employees who want to see us succeed. It is time to put egos on the shelf, and bring back the openess and candor that supposedly made Chrysler so "attractive" to Daimler. Those attributes were quickly stiffled at the old company. I only hope we have learned from our past mistakes and make the Pentastar a symbol to be admired once again. I can now take out my ols Pentastar pin and wear it with pride. I wish the new management tremendous success and hope that they will take some input from some of us who have been through these wars before. We all have a vested interest in seeing us succeed! Good luck to all.

Congratulations on getting Chrysler back .
I will be getting one of the 09 Challengers. too young to get one of the first generation Challengers.
Thanks.
On some of the blogs it is being reported that the PT will be droped after 2009. and the GT Turbo was droped in 07. is this true?
Due to the HHR Panel and the HHR SS. I think we need to keep the PT alive. I have a 03 Dream Cruiser and a 07 Touring Edition.
The 06 refresh has yet to grow on me . the lower grill is the main complaint. on the PT websites that I post on.
We need a PT Panel.
Please don't let the dark side win this war.

Jason,
I must say I was pleasantly surprised that the comments
allowed to be posted were not all just glowing praise. Truthfully,
that's what I expected as that's what usually occurs - glowing
praise with no bite. Props to the company for taking that
approach.
One thing Mopar fans far and wide often agree on is the dealer body
- by and large it needs help. Now, the dealer we go to has been
wonderful for the almost 30 years my family has been patronizing
it. Sadly that is often not the case - though of course consumers
can also be difficult and there's the 'believe half of what you
read' tenet to consider. However, the complaints on widely varied
forums about shady dealer practices are so prevalent that I have to
think there's some truth there.
Relations between the dealer body and "Corporate" have also widely
been reported as being "icy".
I'd love to hear what the plan is to shore up the dealer body and
the overall Corporate-dealer-customer relationships.
Finally, let me also throw in support for the smaller size dealers;
I've long distrusted the Auto-maul(sic) format of dealership;
preferring a smaller shop with relatively low turnover that doesn't
beat me over the head with screaming commericals ending with
speed-read disclaimers.
Best of luck

I cannot believe that Robert Nardelli has been appointed CEO..... after his stint at Home Depot where his arrogance and poor people management lead to poor financial performance and got him properly fired. Just what Chrysler needs.... a financial tap dancer who hasn't a clue about auto technology, markets or manufacturing. I will never purchase another Chrysler product with Nardedlli at the helm. UNBELIEVABLE

I just hope you guys start making cars like the (Concorde, Intrepid and etc) I mean nothing is wrong with the current cars but I just like the olders cars a little better. =]

I think this post is perfect for today. Given the WSJ articles and
of course the innumerable blog posts.
I also wanted to say that I think this is great and I hope people
will use it properly, to engage in positive discussion. I hope you
have a thick skin - the anonymity of the Internet can embolden even
the shyest persons.
If you don't mind. I posted some questions on my blog and I will
repeat them here. I imagine you would rather have me do this than
try to link to my post. You have your "legal" restrictions and
responsibilities, I'm sure.
1) An LLC?!? Even VCs won’t put money into your company if you are an LLC.
2) Home Depot’s deposed leader? Is that considered industry experience or is Chrysler going to be the DIY car? (Do It Your self – for repairs and maintenance?)
3) What will the Unions think? Home Depot was fairly anti-union as I recall.
4) When will Chrysler decide
which of the 5-Fold way type of company it is? (Low-Price, Best
Service, Superior Quality, High Tech, Cool)
The Garage Aug 8, 2007, 8:16 AM
Very nicely said Jason.
What many folks don't realize is that the car industry is a very
small community and those of us who work in the industry often
cross paths with fellow employees many times over the years. You
could say it's the automotive equivalent of the 6 degrees of Kevin
Bacon.
I wish all of you well in the transition.

As an owner of not 1, not 2 , but 3 PT Cruisers (and a Jeep
Cherokee), I'm very glad to make reference to the "new Chrysler",
and see the return of the pentastar.
I personally would like to see the PT Cruiser promoted instead of
ignored, and continue for several more years. The range should be
broadened to include the PT Panel, and a 2-dr hardtop, yes, hardtop
(that's retro!) could easily be made using convertible parts. The
PT is the first car that my wife and I can say is fun to own. The
ease of entry/exit, the utility, and solid feel make these cars a
pleasure to drive. And the best thing is, it doesn't look like a
Honda Corolla, Nissan Civic, or Toyota Sentra!
I sincerely hope that this car is not discontinued before its time.

Congratulations on the new directions Chrysler seems to be heading. As a long time Mopar fan, and having grown up not very far from Walter P. Chryslers boyhood home in Kansas, I am rooting for you all the way. The only thing that might make me happier would be the return of the Plymouth nameplate. It is an old and honored name, and would be a proud part of the Chrysler family.

Good morning....I too want to save the PT Cruiser. I have owned one since 2004 and have loved every minute of it. I am 40 years old and have had a LOT of differnet cars. Never have I had a car that has gotten the attention of the PT. The clubs, groups and other PT web sites are full of people that love these cars. We mod them out. Spending tons of cash that I would never spend on any other daily driver. I would hate to see the PT go. I would have to be honest and say this is the first Domestic car I have owned since my first car at 16. VW and Honda has had my business for years. It wasn't unitl 2001 when the awesome little Pt came out that I had ANY interest in owning a Domestic. I thnk there is plenty of money to be made in making a PT Panel and keeping the GT going. There is a big market out there for aftermarket PT custom parts. Create some new items and body kits, etc and you could get that business too. Log on to a few PT cruiser web sites. Read what the people think. You will be surprised how many people love PT's and how many really good people own them. Besides, I don't want my next car to have to be one of "the other" brands. I would like to see the PT carried into the future at least a few more years. Get that panel version built. You won't be sorry....look at the HHR sales since the panel came out....

Jason, Knowing that both international growth and additional alliances abroad are encompassed strategies of the new Chrysler, I was curious if their was any thought into exploring an alliance with French carmaker Peugeot? I traveled to western Europe last summer and had a couple opportunities to ride in some of their products and took notice of both the contemporary designs and aesthetically upscale interiors of those vehicles. Peugeot has no presence here in the United States or Canada that I'm aware of, and Chrysler may realize a more robust rate of market growth in both mature and emerging markets abroad where Peugeot has a stronger presence, especially if their well established dealer network could be utilized. On the flip side for Peugeot, if they were to ever explore expanding operations here to the United States, Chrysler may serve as a component towards that strategy. Or even joint ventures on common platforms, or powertain technologies. I would assume any of those hypothetical collaborations between the two automakers would produce some level of financial savings in terms of development and growth costs. Also, will Wolfgang Bernhard continue to play any sort of role within Chrysler?
Bravarin Aug 8, 2007, 11:45 AM
Sounds like the PT lovers would like that car line to be a classic and production continued just like we do Wranglers!

I've noticed that the major complaint with the Chrysler brands is dealer service. I think the quality of service (at least in the midwest) should be stepped up considerably. I myself purchased a new '05 PT Cruiser Convertible, but it had a blown speaker. In the process of the dealer replacing the speaker, they managed to put a hole in the roof, tear 3 of the 4 leather seats, and gash up the dash panels - and then tried to return the car to me in that condition. Relatives and other friends and co-workers have complained to me about dealer service as well. It's just a suggestion, but I think a little improvement in dealer service might go a long way for keeping current customers, instead of driving them away. Good luck to the new Chrysler - looking forward to seeing some positive changes.

Chrysler needs to stop decontenting models to make them cover too many price classes The base and LX versions of the various models do little to impress and lose much of the flair of the higher line models. I don't mean only make Leather lined luxo barges but take the 300 and Pacifica for instance all the chrome on the grilles, moldings and and spiffy wood tone trim on the higher models, which certainly doesn't add huge expense to the cars adds to the impression that these aren't just Hertz specials. Of course If I rented a 300 and got one that looked like something instead of Black plastic inside and cheesy hubcaps i might be impressed enough t o spend $25,000 on one instead of a Camry. Best example i can think of is the Ford Fusion, now there is a car that looks like something even in base form. The cars and trucks Chrysler builds are really pretty good, sometimes it's the little things in execution that let them down.

Congratulations on the new Chrysler. I am very excited about the future of the company. I own a 2004 PT Cruiser Limited Edition. I love the car. I am very disturbed about the possibility of the PT being discontinued. I hope the new Chrysler owners will see the importance of retaining one of USA Today's "most influential cars of the past 25 years". Good luck to everyone involved in the new Chrysler.
goldrush Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
Over a million P T's were sold in the first 5 years the car's introduction. This in my opinion means that this was a hit. Since that time the design was changed a little away from the retro look and the sales started to slip. After that all kinds of stories came out that they were dropping the P T because of lacking sales. Another story was that the retro look was out. I think the drop is sales had alot to do with the change away from the retro look that sold so many cars in the first place. There was a problem with power at first and that was fixed by introduction of the turbo. I belong to a P T cruiser club that has chapters all over the world and know of severial clubs that are just as big. The after market for add ons are huge. all I can say is that it would be a grave mistake to drop the P T or change it away from the retro look. Chevy is jumping on the band wagon with the hhr because they know a good idea when they see it.
goldrush Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
Please keep the P T Cruiser! Don't change it into another suv, we have enough as it is. They are more popular than you can imagine

First off I want to wish the new Chrysler 'Corporation' well and
good luck on their new endeavors. I remember the "Merger of Equals"
back in high school, and have been waiting 9 years for the divorce.
From a family that drives primarily Chrysler products, we are all
excited about the future.
Secondly, I want to comment on how fantastic of an idea this public
blog is. I know GM started one a little while ago and it has been
quite successful. I wish the same success here at Chrysler's blog
and am honored as a Mopar enthusiast, as well as a customer, to
have such an intimate link of communication with the company. Very
smart move on your part, allowing customers to vent their
frustrations as well as share their fondest praise with you. This
sort of relationship is what leads to sales. The best thing anyone
can do is admit to their past faults, mend bridges, and ford
through together, to the future.
I think blogs like these are an excellent idea. They make customers
feel like the company is actually listening to them and cares about
their opinion. After all, it is the customer who feeds the company
its profits. I think too many companies these days do not realize
that aspect, and seem to just pump out meaningless product without
thinking about who is spending their money on it, and stuck living
with said product.
Best wishes for the future! I hope to participate much in this blog
and in your corporate news posts. Kudos on open communication. I
think it will help very much with Chrysler's somewhat tarnished
image as of late.
And of course, welcome home.

I am a owner of a 02 PT CRUISER. I bought it New then and I still have fun with it as of this day. Some cars get boring after a few years of owning them but not this car. I hope you guys keep this car around for a while. This car is not just another Neon, It is fun to drive, has retro styling, feels solid and most of all, this car has won plenty of praise and awards to back this up... Not to mention Motortrend's 2001 car of the year. It has it's enthusiasts around the world. Chrysler has thrown many PT Cruiser meets for this special car themselves(Block Party). A New Generation PT could easily result with the California Cruiser Concept which would easily bring the PT back to life. So in all, my message to Chrysler is that it will be a terrible mistake to pull the plug on this vehicle.
Scubamike Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
I too own a 2002 PT Cruiser and hope the New Chrysler listens to all my fellow Cruiser owners in not only keeping but upgrading the PT Cruiser. It's hard to see imitators come along and copy our car and make the improvements that we have been asking for years. Does anybody hear us or care? As a Chrysler employee for almost 20 years, I want to be able to say that the company I work for cares about what the customer is asking for. With gas prices being what they are, the PT is a perfect platform. While I wish my gas milage was better, I love the style and looks of the Cruiser and hope that the future car design doesn't lose it's looks too much.

Jason, first congratulations on the new begining, and I'm looking forwards to some great rides in the near future. My question deals with the continuation of Chrysler as a creative company. Chrysler has a long history of bringing to market vehicles that no one else would. Starting with the "Lil Red Express Truck" of the 70s, the turbo Shelbys of the 80s, Viper, the new Ram, and not the least the Prowler, PT Cruiser, and bringing back RWD American cars at a time we all seemed doomed to FWD and inexpressive design. Being that new owner Cerberus is essentially an investment firm, and new CEO Robert Nardelli comes from outside the industry and has a reputation as a cost cutter, is Chrysler destined to lose that "renegade" quality that has made it a leader IMO instead of a follower in the automotive world?
SuesKruz Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
Another PT Crusier here, hoping they are not going away. I just got a 2006 and was hoping that when it wears out there would be a new PT to take it's place. I have loved the car since they first came out and had no idea how much I would love owning one. Tweak it, Panel it, just please don't take away our PT.
Rachael Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
I have to say, after being an active member on many PT Cruiser enthusiasts forums online, PT lovers would like to see our car kept around a lot longer than rumors have it. If the rumors are true I hope you will reconsider. I think dropping the GT trim for 2008 is a HUGE mistake. If anything the 2.4 non turbo should have been dropped. Don't get me wrong, I own an original release PT (2000). I still have it, I still love it, and I still drive it every single day. If the PT stays, & gets a remodel, please consider a more powerful engine for it! The improved gas mileage would win a lot of new fans, especially with the escalating gas prices. The PT's versatility & unique look will always be it's strong point, but better gas mileage would be a great boast. It wouldn't hurt sales one bit, either!
As for the "New Chrysler" I think the new line up will be exciting. I am really looking forward to the new Challenger! In fact, my husband & I plan to own one.We also own a 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi, that we find useful and fun, and were happy to see the Hemi & R/T line up expand so quickly within the brand. We'd like to see that engine option remain available on the new line-up. This line of cars won't inspire those looking for great gas mileage...but it certainly inspires those of us who were into the '60-'70's muscle cars (as I was). And there are plenty of us out there! Seeing that you are bringing back some of the retro colors was a real thrill too. I saw a Sublime Charger at a car show I was in recently & I have to say it was STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to buy it right then & there! Please keep the unique, powerful , versatile & FUN vehicles coming...and remember some of the old ones along the way, won't you?

This is so great being able to post opinions on a Chrysler website, gives me hope for the future. 43 years ago my first vehicle was a 1954 Plymouth and except for a Chevy (owned for 3 months) and a Datsun (had it less than a year)I have owned nothing else. I wish you luck with your endeavor and hope you can recapture some of the glory days.

I have over 113,000 miles of smiles on my 2003 Dream Cruiser PT. it is a very reliable Car. well made ,
All you need to do is change the lower grill on the 06-08 back to the 01-05 style. and you will see them flying off the lot.
Give us a panel as a Street Cruiser 3 and hold on.

I would like to add my support to all of us who want our beloved PT Cruiser to be kept in production. All of my friends belong to several forums devoted to the love of this car. We are all passionate about this car, we love it. We do spend lots of our money adding modifications and we keep plenty of vendors in businees. We eat, work, and dream PT Cruisers. I personally was retired before I got my Cruiser. I love it so much that I got a job to support it's mods. It is our hobby and to me my life. So do you have any suggestions for us who would do anything to save our car? Thank you for your time.
xjken Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
Thank God this great company is American hands again. Now roll up your sleves and get your a$$es in gear and build the kinda of vehicles that have made so many of us Mopar enthusiast. I have owned Mopars in one form or another since 1980 and have bought new Mopars since 1986. In fact I still have that '86 (Daytona Turbo Z) in my garage with a little over 6000 original miles. My daily driver is a '99 Jeep Cherokee that my son and I just took to Camp Jeep.
If you are going to brag about the next hundred years you better get the next 5 or 10 right or it won't matter. I have to say i am not thrilled with the pic of CEO but, hopefully those in charge know what they are doing. A lot of mistakes have been made in the long history of Chrysler including some in the most recent history. I know very little in the running of a world wide auto bussiness but the one thing I do know is that it comes down to three things, PRODUCTS, PRODUCTS, PRODUCTS. The Jeep people want a Hemi and or a Diesel Wrangler, the PT enthusiast want new or at least a revised Cruiser (not another crossover) and everyone wants cars and trucks that look cool and bring that Mopar attitude to the street. The SRT vehicles are awesome, the Compass and Sebring are not. Fix what needs fixing and improve what is already working. In addition to the Hemi and the diesel the Jeep fans want a pickup (JT or Gladiator), this can not be that hard to make happen. Instead of trying to make life hard for the small town or just small (in size) dealers use them to your advantage because they are the dealers with some of the best customer service. I am a Mopar enthusiast and I will be watching.
goldenturtle Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
I too would like to add My .02 to keep the PT and the turbo version. I have an 02 Dream ser1 and am planing on a GT Turbo soon. I can see a mild change to make it a little bit bigger to accept a V-6. Chrysler had somthing new and unique that Chevy has copied and produced their panel van. (I am on the fence about the sales potentional of a panel.) Please keep the uniqueness. Cruise on !!!

Save the PT Cruiser!!! Stop Decontenting it & make it a Better Product while retaining its fine Character. Make it an evolution of better quality & materials while retaining its old world Retro Charm. I am on my 3rd Cruiser now with my 3rd one being a 2005 5 spd GT Convertible. I'm afraid it will be my last & I will not return to Chrysler should you discontinue the PT. We want it preserved too without misusing the name on something new that doesn't even remotely resemble the Original. As for the New Chrysler Logo, I much prefer the Wings over the Star. Best Regards, WHIP PT
TopCruise Aug 9, 2007, 7:30 AM
I sold a Miata when the PT finally came out with some muscle (turbo) and have never looked back! I know new cars get the attention but it would be crazy to abandon the PT (and the million plus(?) people who have purchased one). I am not sure how Chevy got in there with the HHR but people will rush to what's hot. The difference between hot and not is staying power (Mustang, Corvette , Mini and yes even Miata), Nothing brought Chrysler as much attention as the PT and if you folks listen to us then a panel would be a great option! (could convince me to be a 2 Cruiser Family...I have a business which requires a small van/car).
I got my PT in an unusual way. I was at a bookstore and read about it in your magazine. (Sorry I did not buy the magazine...THAT time). It got me thinking and so the next week I went back and did buy the Cruiser magazine...talked to my then girlfriend (now wife) and the next week had a PT in the driveway! (the appeal of the back seat for future cruisers was one of my winning arguements for a PT!). When she saw all the fun and wild things people do to Cruisers (and how family centered the events were) she was sold. Anyway her mom, my mom and my brother became owners... I guess you could say we have our own little club! So if my voice counts...don't dump the PT... I promise I will buy another (PS I liked the Zorro car featured in your magazine a lot!).

Jason,
i work for one of the bigest Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealers in Australia and i must say were excited too. now that the german fun police have gone we are looking forward to the future under the NEW Chrysler banner.
the best benefit we will see is if you are serious about increasing your export market and we get the support that has been lacking since 1994. we NEED products, the last 12 months have been great with a 100% increase in our product line but we need Ram, Durango, NItro SRT, Caliber SRT4. send us everything you have and we'll sell them and drive them

Jason--Saw your comments in Auto News--Your comment about the dealers sign was uncalled for,my sign is the same as his and was installed by Daimler Chrysler after it was announced that Plymouth was terminated and I've been forced to pay for it ever since--my signage is finally being changed this month--it will probably include Daimler on it ! Also included in my code guides that arrived this week was a check list that included CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH CODE BOOK. Maybe the communication dept forgot to put the word out. By the way ,I was a Chrysler employee for four years and have been a dealer for thirty four years. Best wishes in your communication efforts! MOPAR MANIAC

Welcome back Chrylser, after owning 4 jeeps, 2 wranglers, 1 Liberty and now a Commander I sure hope you improve customer satisfaction and have someone who can actually help when you call in for assistance or contact via email. I have had quite a few problems with the Commander, when I email in for assistance or call in over the phone the only answer i get is that Chrysler can't help me sorry....I need to contact my dealer, my dealer tells me i need to contact Chrysler . The Commander really ruined my outlook on Chrysler/Jeep and its unfortunate, I was a real die hard Jeep fan, even got featured in Jeep magazine. The concept of the Commander is great, mine just isn't holding up and nobody wants to help me out with it.

Dear Mr. Vines,
I am an original owner of a Silver 2001 PT Cruiser Touring Edition. I love my car. Please do not discontinue the PT. It is the most practicle car I have ever owned. I am waiting for an all new model before I buy another new car. If you discontinue the PT Cruiser I don't think that I will buy another Chrysler.
I'll pray in the meantime.

Jason,
I am excited about the future of the New Chrysler. I have
been Dodge fan all my life and have a 65 Dart convertible and a 73
Challenger. I am glad to see that Chrysler will bring the new
Challenger to production. I am also very impressed with what
I have seen of the concept Dodge Demon. This car is exactly
what Chrysler needs right now, getting away from the cookie-cutter
vehicles offered by the other manufacturers and bringing some cars
to market that have some actual design initiative. Dodge
really needs to build the Demon!!!! I was set to look at
getting a new Challenger, but I may have to wait for the Demon to
come out. Good luck, and brings us the Demon very soon.

Congratulations on ridding Chrysler of the hyphen.
I am now enjoying my second PT Cruiser, and am very active on PT Cruiser forums since 2001 when I got my first PT.
We are all alarmed at plans to: 1) Drop the GT turbo, and 2) Kill the PT cruiser in 2009.
Yes, sales have dropped, but #9 in the lineup isn't bad. Dropping the GT will only drop sales further. The PT has a loyalty exceeding that of most cars - don't throw that away, PLEASE.
Smurfo Aug 9, 2007, 1:32 PM
Jason, congratulations on your important assignment.
Please let me say this: I fully understand your loyalty to your new boss. But being in charge of New Chrysler's corporate image, should you not get rid of you Home Depot shirt and tie? The perception of the good work that you guys will be doing would certainly benefit.
Good luck, Heinz

Jason,
First, I would like to say a belated thank you for taking the time to talk to the interns last Friday. That was really great! It's nice to see that the "big wigs" really do care about the "little guy." Second, I'm really hoping that with the new Challenger coming out there will be a version that is affordable to someone who is still in college or a recent graduate. When I first saw the concept, my immediate reaction was "I have to get one of these!" I don't know much about the production model, but I'm really excited to see it hit the showrooms. Along with the launch of the Challenger, I hope that you won't let the government shut down this second "Age of the Muscle Car." I think it would be great to see redesigns of the 'Cuda, Road Runner, and Dart (for starters). Hopefully that will be possible with the new CAFE standards...
Best of luck!
piper Aug 9, 2007, 1:32 PM
Mr. Vines; What is the point of having an 'ex' partner or wife if you can't blame them for messing stuff up? "I'm sure now that the stoggy old German is gone, that you guys at the new Chrysler will get the PT going right again and the 'company' headed in the right direction.
What great lines to start with! Fun cars sell, they always have. 'Go for it' and we will follow.
good luck... Piper
Charles Aug 9, 2007, 1:32 PM
Will there be a convertible version of the new Challenger?
John Fox Aug 9, 2007, 1:32 PM
Jason,
We can win the customer back!!!!!!
Chrysler should find a way to publicly recognize our defects & commit to correcting them (ie the Sebring)
I am hopeful but concerned.
Hopeful that our products will be accepted in the future marketplace.
Concerned that very little was said by anyone at the top about our products.
Dave Aug 9, 2007, 1:32 PM
In 2000, I waited 13 weeks (after ordering) for a PTCruiser and paid sticker price for it, 2 things I had never done on any car. My wife thought I was nuts, until she rode in it and went to a few PT events (275 PTs in Canada?), then she had to have one (2002). When I drove a Turbo (2004) in July of 03, the 2001 was traded, The wife's 02 was traded on an 05 convertible. We have met and made friends with folks from all over the US and Canada because of this car.
I was going to be in the market for a new cruiser this year, but now I can't get a GT, the interior lost all of it's rounded charm, the front end lost a big part of its 'classic' look, and to get any level of decent options I need to get the car loaded with things I don't really want.
The new ownership could be a great thing, if it fixes the mistakes of the last several years and keeps alive the things that are great about the companies cars.

I am another PT lover, have been since the day they were born and don't want to see its death. I'm a owner of a new 2006, Since buying my PT finally,I have met hundreds of people that have the same passion about the PT as myself and who do not want to see its death. You wil be hearing from all these people and if this is truly america you might listen to what the people have to say.

Frist off Congrats To The New Chrysler. I hope you make the next 100 years.
Now. You need to save the PT Cruiser. You were the ones who seemed to start This retro fad when Chrysler Produced the PT Cruiser in the first place. Now with the '09 Challenger you seem to be keeping the rertro styling.
You need to let GM know who is the original and who is the copy cat.
The PT Cruiser has amazing production numbers for a vehicle that has only been in production for 7 years.
It also has an amazing folllowing of PT Cruiser Enthusiasts. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there worldwide, and I am one of them who Love the PT more than any car they have ever owned. The majority of these people also belong to some sort of PT Cruiser Club or website of the same.
The PT Cruiser is a world wide infactuation and it would be a sad day in the Life of Chrysler if it were to ever loose its Retro Styling and be produced as theJ49or in other terms the Black Blob.
Thank You for letting me speak my mind. GLenn .B.

Hi , I too want to add my comments about the possible demis
of our beloved PT Cruiser. I have an 01 Limited and on 03
Dream cruiser. They are both great cars actually they are more
thatn cars . Being involved in the on-line PT Communitty has
introduced me to a lot of great people. And we all love our PT's .
I would love to see you bring out a variant of the Beach Cruiser
Prototype that was out a few years ago .Maybe just a bit bigger so
it could handle a V-6 , And you should bring back the H.O. Turbo
and you really need to make a panel.Tthere are a bunch of people
that would love to have one .
Any way congrats on your last 100 years and hope the next
10 years bring a real strong Chrysler back like
it was in 2000 -2001. Thanks Glennw

Rack up another PT lover here, we currently have an '05 GT Convert (traded an '02 Touring for it) and an '07 Pacific Coast Highway edition (upgrade from an '01 Touring) and had never considered purchase of a Chrysler branded vehicle prior to the advent of the PT. Chrysler brand NEEDS an entry level model like the PT to get customers into the family. I for one am considering a step up to a Sebring Convert if better packaging options become available allowing for more choices in option grouping.

I have had my 2006 PT Cruiser for only three months, and already we are looking for a good deal on another one. Why? Because it is simply the best value for money. When we were looking/rating all the other versions of hatchback and SUV's -even some in the 40,000 dollar range, it all boiled down, when we did a feature analysis chart of all makes and models available, to the PT being the best value for money. After only three months, I now know why I encounter families who have two, three and four Cruisers. As a special education teacher, I find that they are wonderful for whipping up the hatch and firing a wheelchair or walker or other specialized equipment in. I have seen many older folks rave about them, because if one member of the couple is in a wheelchair, they can move themselves to the passenger side, than, using the handholds on glovebox and door, stand up and slide themselves onto the seat. The other partner then whips the wheelchair around to the back and whips it into the rear. I have been amazed at the cargo capacity when I flop the back seats forward, and actually, after cleaning up after a major renovation, had people stop and stare at the local dump as I unloaded. One man commented that that was "quite a car", and we replied that there was nothing else like it, and that is why we have one and are looking for another. At the school where I teach, we have 3 PT's among staff members and eight among parents-with more parents commenting that they are looking into getting one. I would be saddened to see the end of the PT--the lines and style are simply light years ahead of the competition. On my wish list however, is a diesel version for the North American market--would buy one like a shot! This car is a dream-my six foot six sons fit comfortably in the back! Please keep the PT!

I am the proud owner of 2 PT cruisers. I have an 01 Limited and my wife has an 05 GT. I am the origional owner of my 01 and have had it for almost 7 years. I have never liked a car as much as I do the PT cruiser and I would also like to say, PLEASE KEEP THE PT!!!! My PT has drawn soo much attention since I've done so many mods to it, plus I just have to stop and look at it since it's just a beautiful car. I've been in many shows and belong to a great club and just to tell you the PT community is HUGE!!!! I don't want to see this go away, the PT isn't just a car, it's a lifestyle. I agree with Dave and others, we need to add a panel to the production and keep the GT in too. It would be a huge downfall to Chrysler if we lost the PT, really. Thanks, Jeff (prettytemptingcrzr)

The first time I ever saw a PT Cruisr, I knew I had to have one. I currently own an 01 and had an 04 too for a short time. I met my future husband who also had an 01 at a PT meeting. I no longer have my 04 but am going to have a second PT again very soon. I just love the look and the overall bodyline of this car. I think this car should remain a staple in the Chrysler lineup as it has brought a lot of us car enthusiasts together. Not all of us car people can maintain the classic cars but at least we could own a car that gives us that similar look. Let the PT Cruiser live on in the Chrysler line up for years to come!
MikeMcL Aug 13, 2007, 6:54 AM
The PT Cruiser is a fabulous car. It is functional and classic. I own an 05 Turbo touring convertible which my wife fell in love with and had to have it. I was up for a PT GT coupe but she yearned for the drop top as it was able to hold our two kids and plenty of groceries while crusin top down. Why would you lose this car within your line-up. EVERYONE we meet wants one, wants to have one, or is hoping to one day get one! A neighbor stated after going car shopping, "this car does everything, there isn't nothing the car won't offer:, thye bought a mini-van as they have 5 kids...but rest assured a few years down the road when 1-2 of the kiddies are oof to college they will look for a PT Cruiser, if a new one is not there to buy , then they will have to pull from the over million autos sold so far! Let's get your desing team whom you pay big bucks toward to put their thinking caps on and style the PT to keep it fresh and new for many years to come.

Welcome back Chrysler. I am an old Chrysler guy in age and in ownership of Chryslers. I was surprised when I started reading the blogs and found so many PT Cruiser owners writing there feelings about there cars. I have a 2004 GT Turbo PT Cruiser myself. I am 75 years old and I feel like a teen ager again when I drive it. When I walk out to the garage some times I can hardly believe that little inferno red car with flames on it is mine. I hope the rumors that are flying around about the Cruiser being canceld are just that, rumors. The other car parked next to my Cruiser is my wifes 2000, 300M Chrysler. It only has 70,000 miles on it so we are waiting to see what changes are made in the 300 before we replace it. I have read in some of these blogs about proplems some of the people have with there dealers. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Our dealer who we have been going to for years, Jeep/Chrysler of Ontario have given us nothing but good service.
I just want to ask you once again to keep the PT Cruiser in your line up.

Frist off Congrats to Chrysler....I hope you keep the Pt Cruiser. There is alot of us who love this little car. You should also check out all the fourms on the PT and clubs for this car. Why would you make an SUV out of it there is way to many on the market now as it is. This is my 1st PT and I love it. I was looking forward to buy a brand new one down the road. You will upset alot of people by this. Look at Chevy for getting rid of the Cavileir,Camaro and other Auto makers for discontinueing certin models. I mean there is alot of us who own 2-3 PT's. PLEASE KEEP THE PT CRUISER..Thanks

First off, I'd like to wish all at Chrysler much success with the new transition, times are tough on everybody nowadays, especially here in the States...I guess the powers that be dont count on manufactering being a vitual part of the economy here anymore, but I digress...
I hope Chrysler doesn't axe the PT! I LOVE this little retro car! Don't know if you guys have noticed but there is an virbant, active community out there that celebrates this very cool car!
I know the market dictates what particular model stays & goes but I feel if you restyle this car with us enthusiasts input, you will have a hot selling car once again.
For YEARS We have been asking, begging, pleading for a panel version of this car, only for these requests to fall on deaf ears...
PLEASE produce a official factory panel version, along with the "Dream" series special editions....Chevy has already beat you guys there with their HHR's...and that car has only been out a faction of the time the PT has been on the market!!!!
Thank you for letting me rant :)
Again my best wishes for success for Chrysler in this new transition period...the lifetime powertrain warranty is a damn good start!!!

i just picked up my 05 PT cruiser, about 9 months ago. its been a blast! ive been so excited about making it look even more good looking, and i find out that you guys are gonna axe the PT. dont let the PT go, it is predominately seen as a "old persons car" believe me im 22, my friends laugh all the time. the thing is, you dont always have to aim for the young market. there are plenty of people that i have met, that are older and really into their PT's. i dont really have the creative minds to give good ideas, lol. but you had a real good thing with the 01-05's the 06 + lower front grill area is :l ( kinda ugly) but if you keep the PT alive, you can re-image it for more people!
KEEP THE PT!!!

H again Jason, I just went and had my quarter glass installed for my recall at the Great Plains Chrysler Dealership in Hastings, Ne. I want to thanks you for having such amazing people working for your company. Your mechanics, salesmen, receptionists all treat me like an old friend. I go there al the time with questions about my 2005 PT Cruiser, they always go out of their way to help me. They know how much I love my car and treat it with kid gloves. I have heard people complain about othere dealerships but this facility is one of the finest compinies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
I am quite animated about Saving the PT cruiser Your people all agree with me. They use them on errands around town and love the way they handle. I was there for 3 hours this afternoon and enjoyed every minute of it. I have been critized for buying from the factory but I feel that I can trust these people with my car.
One of your salesmen was kind enough to pass out my business cards to people he meets that have a PT Cuisers. I want to start a National Chapter In the state of Nebraska and my card has my information on it. I thought that was so kind of the dealership to do this for me. I strongly urge you to listen to all these PT lovers and please hear what they would like. They want a panel, PT, they want a turbo.
One of the salesmen told me that "No one should compare the PT to a Neon. It is 400 pounds less than the 96 Concorde LX. It is the heaviest smaller class car that is out there. The best built . It is overbuilt."
There is an unveiling tomorrow night at this same dealership. I will be there- I told them I will not take over the festivities with my Save the PT yell. They said . Go ahead. So your own salesmen are so impressed the PT Cruiser. Try to give these people what they want, Thank you for your time, Mickey
j Aug 14, 2007, 11:36 PM
Just for the record, Chrysler has never publicly said that it was ending the PT ... that's only speculation on anybody's part.
Ptrope Aug 14, 2007, 11:36 PM
As a PT Cruiser owner (2006 Touring) and loving the car since the
day it was unveiled at NAIAS, I think Chrysler not only should
continue this car, but NEEDS to do so. Too many cars blend into the
mob of other machinery out there, and even with GM's MeToo Cruiser,
the PT is still distinctive, as well as practical. This segment of
the market is filled with cars that are well-made and thoroughly
generic - the Cruiser stands out, making a statement for both
Chrysler and for the millions of owners who bought and love this
car.
Chrysler: PLEASE do not abandon this car, either by discontinuing
it or by homogenizing it. The 2006 restyle already inflicted a bit
too much "Chryslerization" on a great, cohesive design - it lost a
great deal of its visual charm in the attempt to make it sleeker. A
hot rod is NOT refined - it is outspoken, and even a little rough
around the edges. Offer the car with more performance, with more
blatant, even outrageous style - muted and metallic colors may be
the norm in the Chrysler demographic, but the PT Cruiser appeals to
a broader crowd, even a sassier crowd, and 'corporate' palettes and
conservative chrome wheels aren't enough. - we need rich, vibrant
colors and classic Rallyes, even wire wheels!
Bring us the Panel Cruiser - don't let GM run away with a great
idea that YOU did first! Explore the full cloth sunroof that is
soon to appear on the new Jeep Liberty, for a youthful and
eye-opening experience. Offer an interior with plenty of
body-colored panels, on the doors and console and not just the dash
- like the classic hot rods.
And make the grille bigger again - a car like this should be proud
and expressive, not confined and tentative, as the 2006 restyle
made it. Chrysler is a whole new company - stand up and shout it to
the world!

Hey "New" Chrysler... I'm glad you are a truly American Car company
again... and I'm looking forward to the Night out contest (hoping
to win one of those 15 cars!)
But mostly, I wanted to tell you that I bought my first American
branded car at age 43 (a 2005 PT Convertible). After 20+
years of Asian Cars (except a VW GTI), I was nervous about the
purchase. the PT Cruiser has rocked! But here's my
dilemma... I've test driven a couple other Chrysler products in my
price range... and the PT is the only thing worth a second
look. (See the LA Times review of the sebring
convertible and know my opionion)... I love my PT Cruiser and want
a new one.
... and the owner forums say you are going to discontinue the PT
model?!?!?! Are you crazy? over 1 million sold with
enviable owner loyalty and an active consumer community.
Don't blow this... the is the community you should be building your
future on (no alienating!)
I'm mid 40's with a good income. If it wasn't for the PT
Cruiser, I'd be in a Japanese car. Please reconsider!

As Scott from PTE said and I quote Scott.
A nice hot-rod war could be brewing between the PT and HHR SS if they would do this.
Of course, unless they are working on it right now...we'd be looking at at least 2-3 years until it happens.

I am very happy to have my favorite American car company back as an American car company! I own an '04 PT Cruiser with 114,000 miles on it. This car has been the best. I enjoy modifying it and it has been a constant source of interest from others. I was disappointed with the "refresh" of the PT in '06... The retro modern styling and top of the line options need to be maintained in order to regain some of the sizzle of the original model. I have been planning to buy a new PT in the future, but have been put off by the recent reports that that the GT package is going away and that Chrysler is planning to abandon this market to Chevy!
Don't cut the PT! Get with the program and get some new engine options and restore the front end, update the lighting (HID, LED, etc.) and keep a very large group of Chrysler customers coming back and inviting friends.

In '03, I bought my first new car, a 03 PT Turbo that I have loved ever since I drove it off the lot. I have been through a lot with it, reaching 94k miles this week, two bad transmissions, and lots of issues with bad dealer services.
But none the less, I intend on keeping my PT, and buying a new second one in the near future in addition to another Chrysler vehicle.
Please do not kill the model line, nor "jump the shark" with it. The PT has been a good seller, and is a fairly common sight on the road now a days.
tedsal Aug 21, 2007, 9:32 AM
I have had my cruiser for nearly two years now and a car was just a car to me some thing to get you from point A to point B, now the cruiser is a passion loved the look of them from the first time i set my eyes on one but was not realy the type of vehicle i wanted, when i retired the first thing i went out and got my self was my Cruiser, I realy hope you reconsider stopping production of these vehicles as I am looking forward to getting another one in a few years time, the Pt Cruiser would be the greatest head turner I realy love it when people walk past and stop look comment and ask many questions regarding the car. It would be a grave mistake to take this passion away from thousands of owners I belowe to the Australian Pt owners club and every one there want them to stay. Lets hope enough of us owners voice our oppinion and change your mind.
fadippides Aug 22, 2007, 3:28 PM
I am suprised that I even find myself posting trying to save a car, but the PT is one of the few (if not only) compact cars I feel safe driving. It has a lot of interior room and drives like a larger car.
For Chrysler to discontinue the model ifs penny smart and pound foolish. This is the car the reinvigorated the appeal to Chrysler again, and to kick it to the curb without even giving it a short leash to live on is foolish. Very little effort, and even less advertising has been put into it lately, and it still sells.
With proper engineering, this car can be just about everything to everyone, Family car, convertable, AWD SUV replacement, rally car, etc. Just about the only thing it cant be is a fuel miser.
That being said, I would rather Chryser discountiue the PT rather then make a half hearted attempt to save it, or slap the name on something else and I will just look elsewhere when my PT dies.

Jason,
Why does there seem to be more consumer websites against Chrysler and Dodge if you do a search on just about any search engines. There are also videos all over the internet. It seems there is a lot more than GM and Ford. Why does this not seem to bother Chrysler and clue in management that there have been a lot of unresolved customer issues and customers just left hanging? I just have to be honest, doesn't make me really want to buy a Chrysler vehicle any time soon.
soonercruiser Sep 1, 2007, 11:46 PM

That statement is your own. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! Jason, as director of communications you need to get your "customer

US Customer Service - Dodge Brand Site
Brief Description:
Marketing options for Dodge vehicles
Comments:
When are you going to offer high end CLOTH seats as an option in
your
performance vehicles such as Magnum R/T or Charger R/T
instead of
mandating
Leather. I am VERY interested in one of the above vehicles
but Refuse
to
buy another vehicle with leather seats.
j Sep 7, 2007, 3:32 PM
Thanks for your comment regarding
your preference for the use of cloth in our high-end
products.
At the R/T pricepoint, the overriding customer expectation is that
the vehicle is supplied with leather. A cloth option would
run at a very low rate and therefore at a high cost, due to
supplier and manufacturing complexity and the need for service
parts availability among other issues.
We strive to offer vehicles that appeal to a broad customer
audience, representing the expectations and tastes of a
preponderance of customers. Although we certainly respect the
opinions of all customers, our products are designed to appeal to
current customer preferences that relate to styling, color, and
various options. Currently industry-wide customer trends do
not reflect a desire for the use of cloth in high performance
automobiles.
But thanks for sharing your
idea!
CTFrank Sep 10, 2007, 1:44 PM
Jackie, you missed my point completely, a high end cloth seat is already available in the SXT version that could easily be made available in the R/T version at No Additional Cost to you. (in fact a "leather delete" option could even improve your per vehicle profits) Current "marketing trends" do not reflect a desire for cloth because it is NOT OFFERED in high performance vehicles by you or any other major producers.
j Sep 10, 2007, 1:44 PM
Sorry you’re frustrated by the seat choices we provide. We knew our response that the complexity of assembly plants and the compromises we decide upon wouldn't please everyone. It certainly doesn’t get you your choice of seats. We get frustrated, too, when a line is drawn by our planners about equipment, but understand that every choice we make that results in complexity tends to raise prices. This is a real apology, CTFrank, not a form response. We are taking your comments seriously.
Mo Sep 11, 2007, 2:17 PM
Jackie,
Is anyone going to respond to the issue I bring up or if you deem it unworthy that is it? Is there any way to contact someone affiliated with the Dodge product line that cares at all about the customer and standing behind the Dodge product? Don't tell me customer service either because it is anything but that!

On Labor Day, my wife and I were returning to Elkhart, IN from Louisville, KY after visiting our grandchildren. At 70 mph, we were broad-sided. Our 2002 Grand Caravan did a 360 and flipped over two-and-a-half times, landing on its roof. People had to crawl through broken windows to cut our seatbelts so we could get out. The amazing thing is that neither of us were seriously injured. With a few bruised ribs and sore muscles, we walked away from the totaled van. Everyone, including the wrecker service driver, couldn't believe we were alive.
I think if we had been in any other vehicle, we would have been killed. So, thanks, Chrysler, your minivan saved our lives. We have owned three Chrysler Minivans (two Voyagers and one Caravan), and loved them all. Unfortunately, our insurance didn't pay enough for us to get another one, so we'll be downscaling. I just wanted you to know how grateful my entire family is.
I would love to send you some pictures of the mutilated minivan, but I need an address.

The Return of PLYMOUTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at a
Chrysler dealer near you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Jason
I am Canadian and have recently purchased a lease on the 2008 sebring convertible. When I tried out the touring versus the limited I am almost certain that I noticed the touring had a much rougher ride. That was the crowning touch that made my decision to purchase the limited. Now I'm not sure if it was just my imagination as the data sheets in the dealer promo pamphlets indicates the same suspension for both. I think that there must be something to my perception because I say a limited special ordered with the touring suspension. Please help me set my mind at rest. Also I want to congratulate Chrysler for finally bringing out a convertible that has some inspiration. I still own my 1988 Chrysler premium Lebaron convertible (my first car) and it still looks great. It's amazing how it still attracts attention. I think the new Sebring reinvents it.
Thanks Kevin Kocot

Howdy, I have been a lifelong Chrysler fan. I have purchased 7 new and several used in the last 25 years. I see Chrysler struggling to keep up and blaming hard times but I feel they have turned their backs on the American auto buyer. The number for customer assistance posted with an American address on all of their sites? It is in India. You will be lucky to get someone you can commuicate with, much less that has a understanding about automotive issues. They are unable to give you a number for anywhere in the U.S.A. that you can call or talk to someone for they are "customer assistance" Mine was not a complaint but a question. I tried them twice and was left on hold for over an hour and have given up. I see Chrysler closing plants while maintaining the same auto line in outside the U.S.A. plants. I understand that Government health care plays a big part in this decission but again Chrysler chooses to turn its back on the American worker. I have never in my life purchased a vehicle from a Japanese company. All the foriegn cars I have ended up with have been from Chrysler or Ford out of Canada or Mexico. Nissan has a large plant just to the south of me. I see Americans going to work and building a product in the U.S.A. I will never again buy a car from Chrysler I have been forced to shop with the Japanese to get an American car and service. ( I bet they dont direct me to India to ask a question) I feel sorry for the Chrysler dealers. They have been good to deal with and have a decent product but the company policies of leaving the United States while making the same autos in other countries, the poor Cutomer assistance in India ,will keep me from buying another Chrysler product. What happened to you? Was Iacocca the only one who had a clue? India, Canada, Mexico? Let them buy your cars I'm done. Mike Stuhr, American car buyer

Mike: Sorry you had a tough time in India, but they really do the job of moving your issues up the ladder, by first contacting your dealer, then taking it to a regional manager for you. One tip: If you have to wait more than five minutes on the 800-992-1997 line, hang up and try later. There are times they answer right away. Personally, I've met some nice folks there--they are just like us down deep. And no, I can't pronounce some of their names, either. By the way, Nissan's customer call center is in Manilla, and not the Manilla that's just outside of Denison, Iowa, either. Thanks for your comments, Blog moderator

Thanks for a great 300 Touring we bought a few years back. The ride is comfortable and excellant. I would like to see my idea for a low cost airconditioner added that runs when the motor is shut off. What is luxery if you get in a sweatering leather seat in a parking lot and have to wait for the air to cool the car off again? That is not luxury. Need that idea again, mail me & I will explain it. Happy motoring & thanks for being gracious & humble to the American people with your ads in the paper, I didn't read it, I just heard about it.

The Chrysler "TURBINE CAR" I have been doing some reading on Chrysler's 1963 Turbine Car. This vehicle was absolutely STUNNING in both appearance and performance. Obviously the car was way ahead of it's time. After 45+ years of automotive technology advancements, why isn't this type vehicle available in Chrysler dealerships? I find it astonishing that Chrysler allows itself to be held prisoner of the ill advised decision to discontinue the Turbine Car Program. Chrysler could recapture the automotive industry's leadership mantle with it's return. A Turbine Car with a high MPG rating is on my wish list. What are they waiting for?

Being a Chrysler assember for 28 years ,we have had our ups and downs ,but we managed to survive without government intervention ! With the government sticking their two sense in ,they do not give a darn about the employees , health care ,or even if they live to retire ! The government is virtually going to make it impossible for any more workers to retire with a pension ! Right now ,Chrysler's pension fund is going to dry up 2027 ! That is a fact ,because retirees have already recieved the notice . Cutting employees wages in half, taking weeks of vacation time away, bonus elimination and more concessions ! Do they understand the autoworker has a very physical job ? They might not be as physical as when I started, but everything is repititious . It isn't like the bankers on Wall Street ,where they get creases in their pants from sitting all day ! Bankers destroy everything ,but yet, they are able to keep their outrageous bonuses ,get more vacation ,and they don't make any concessions ! What is wrong with this picture !Corporate greed has taken over ,and the government lets them get away with it ,just so that the jobs stay here in the states ! They are so to speak blackmailing the government ,and they are too stupid to see it !

I reluctantly bought my daughter a 2002 PT Cruiser. What a peice of crap. I just spent 2700 dollars rebuilding the transmission but the tranny still not right. They are telling me it's an electrical problem now. My wish is that Chyrsler go out of business for causing such misery in my family's life. If Chrysler would have spent the money to put the right size transmission and suspension in this car their reputation would not have been tarnished by the likes of this peice of crap. PT Cruiser owners just look on line for customers with issues if you want to validate my dissatisfaction with Chrysler.

CEO Sergio Marchionne, This complaint is regarding Glen Beck,a commentator on Fox News. We are very fortunate to live in a country of free speech. But you can not yell fire in a crowded theater. When people like Glen Beck and Michelle Malkin can accuse the President of the U.S. of being a racist, they are attempting to incite a riot. That's why Dr. Tiller was killed, due to this kind of speech! Are they trying to get the President Assasinated? I've supported your products in the past and continue to support you with the bailout that you received recently. I object to my advertising dollars going to support this kind of ignorant rhetoric. Please stop this attack on our President. One can disagree with him, but do not allow this man to continue to continue to commit treason. Thank You, Jane Craig

Thanks Chrysler for saving the Cruiser!! I love my 2007 Ocean
Blue baby customized with a chrome beltline and pinstriping
on the side, triple teared accent stripes on the hood and
hatch, flat chrome to highlight the bumpers front and rear, and an
accnet strip on the hatch bottom.. Also has chrome flames
(Next year silver ghost flames!!) I am always the only
Cruiser in the classic car shows from Midland on up (I live in
Traverse City). EVERYONE always wants to get a good look at
the car and asks countless questions. Can't tell you how many
people I've "sold" on the car in the year and a half I have
had. First comment is always what a beautiful pearl blue
color!!! Then they say,"Do you know you have a big dog on
your hood? Yes! He's stuffed!" Kids love it at
the shows. I
come from a Ford family, but this is the most solid, most
beautifully appointed car I have ever had. It is also my
FIRST totally new car. I love it! QUESTION:
for anyone who reads this---Where are the P.T.Cruiser Clubs in
Michigan? N.Michigan? Sure would be nice to know.
(bjcmusician@yahoo.com) CHRYSLER--Please have a P.T.Cruiser Day at
headquarters next summer to celebrate this great car AND your
excellance in building a quality car that is truly loved by so many
people!!!!! Sure wish Chrysler was MORE
visable ,as a company ,at classic car shows!
