I do not think dropping the Dodge name from the Ram is a good idea.. I am a loyal Dodge truck owner,and now will not buy a new Ram without the Dodge nameplate.. I feel stupid for standing up for Dodge all these years just to have my truck thrown out like trash and given a stupid Ram brand name !!! Ram is a no go !!! Dodge truck owners were the most loyal to the whole company..now no more Dodge truck..no more loyal buyers,or loyal owners ..Jeep buyers are not loyal to Mopar nor Caravan or Caliber owners buy them once move on to Toyota..Dodge truck owners were the most loyal now you soiled on us.. dont believe me go to pickuptruck.com and see other opinions..

Iacocca.
Based on some of my post-grad education in leadership, this man
seems to be a true leader, because he seems to be empowering
others. Sergio does not seem to be whipping his underlings from on
high, but working alongside them and empowering them to be
accountable to themselves and the company. He's giving them the
tools to do their job, and if they don't deliver as promised, I'm
sure he'll hand them their noose.
I'm very excited by this man, his team and the stark change of
culture and all-encompassing empowerment I'm sensing in Auburn
Hills.
I disagree with Dexter. Dodge Truck owners are going to be given more attention, more specialized service and options, and in turn will give them more respect for the brand. Think of RAM as a mutation of Dodge Truck to be more mature for a more sophisticated truck driver. The focus of Chrysler Group on their truck owners is showing their loyalty and that that, finally, under the new management, they have taken notice of their existing clients and will give them more to look forward to when it comes time to their next purchase.
BMInc, How you can ask for more respect and loyalty from a Dodge truck owner,they are the most loyal.. in the past DODGE already gave us what we wanted a Viper powered limited edition 510 h.p truck,a Daytona Ram,Hemi Sport edition,MegaCAB DUALLY ect..the 2009 Dodge Ram gave us duel exhaust (tips) though true duel exhaust would of been better.. a center console for some who wanted it and a smoother ride for the mostly city/family/Dodge truck enthusiast 1500 buyer..Mopar parts catered to the Dodge Ram its Mopars most common aftermarket parts buyer... I feel its a bad move not to keep calling the Ram a Dodge Ram..I belong to a Mopar club and loyal repeat buyers agree with me,and they already lost sales because of this..I generally like the plan except the Ram it has to be a Dodge,its sales will drop without the Dodge name,especially by true Dodge boys like me ...
According to Allpar all the Chrysler and Dodge cars will be badged Lancia and Alfa in EUROPE. I'm from Europe and this is the worst idea you could get. Someone who owns a current 300C won't buy the next gen if it is badged Lancia, even if it is exactly the same car, you are going to lose a lot of customers in Europe. Lancia is a luxury brand, OK, you want to take Chrysler upscale, OK. Great. Kill Lancia would be a better idea, less people would be disappointed. You would sold a lot more CHRYSLER 300C than LANCIA 300C. We barely see Lancias on our roads, we see a lot more Chryslers. That's a big mistake. Or how to shoot yourself a bullet in the foot. It's really sad.
Dexter no matter what, Dodge trucks have a loyal following just like Jeep people do. Infact I don't see a problem makeing the Ram its own brand. It will get more attention, and Dodge cars will finally start to be in segments they've never been in before. Besides do you really think a person who is shopping a Dodge caliber, avenger or Caravan is going to see a Dodge ram pick-up and choose that instead??? I think not! Dodge trucks are an entity all to themselves, thanks to the redesigned Ram Chrysler came up with in the past few years, it deserves its own branding. Besides the Ram shouldn't be a Dodge car logo anyways!!! it doesn't fit.
BRAVO Mr. Marchionne! Finally a real car guy who gets it! He turned around Fiat & he'll also turn around Chrysler! I have no doubt this guy can do it! He understands what it takes to make a winning automobile company. Both Chrysler & Fiat together will make a very competitive company. I just have 1 question for Mr. Marchionne when is he going to hire me as public reations supervisor???????????

chrysler1,So you think the Caravan should be its own brand ,they are an entity to themselves as well !!!How about the Challenger,Viper ?Wrangler?As I said Jeep buyers dont care about Dodge or Chrysler,they slap a Chevy V-8 in old Wrangler's..we have 2 Jeep's in our club (5.9 Grand Cherokee's 1998's) but besides that 4x4 jeep owners dont give a ....about Mopar !! Dodge owners are most loyal... I owned 37 Mopars in the last 19 years since I turned 14, 6 new Mopars since 2000 !!!Refered new Chrysler product to family and friends dozens bought, 3 Dodge Rams,And I am ticked off that my Dodge Ram is not a Dodge anymore...I dont know who is any more loyal than I am !!! My Dodge truck club buddies also are ticked off !! Ford can manage to have a truck and it blows the Ram away in sales,and they dont have a F-series brand..so I dont know the reasoning for this except for Fiat to turn the Ram into a Fiat...so if we are concerned 22 members of Dodge Ram truck 2002-2009 owners(6 ,19-25 year olds so young guys like Dodge as well),a group of 100+Mopars of all ages !! 1 Dodge truck says he is o.k with this ..but then its his first Dodge,Toyota,Nissan and Ford before it so he aint that loyal.....We are the fan base,loyal buyers !!! We are DODGE !!!! It may take some time but we and dont know if we will get used to this,my new 2010 Dodge Ram is on hold for at least 5 years to see what is going on...by the way other Mopar members use GM ,Ford trucks even 2 Toyota Tundra's to trailer their show cars..so I may join them...or just keep my Dodge truck and fix it for years to come...
Backstabbed....? Chrysler is a company that has employed million of people for almost a century. They've sold millions of vehicles to happy customers and continue to sell millions. If any company is not profitable they must learn adapt & change to make what the market wants. Been a long time chrysler fan don't like the way fiat changing chrysler no more dodge rams fiat shold go on the web and read some of the blogs people are writing.remember there are a lot of die hard chrysler people out ther they don't want to buy a fiat they want to buy a chrysler and a dodge-ram
I believe Mr. Marchione will turn Chrysler around. He sounds very confident and intelligent and I have faith he will do what he predicts. I don't have a degree but I hope Mr. Marchione will NOT allow the ridiculous bonuses that I feel was one of the reasons Chrysler got into trouble. Yes a bonus should be allowed when things are good, but $50,000,000 for one year's work??? Chrysler needs to take their profit and bank it for a rainy day. To cut the line worker's pay yet allowing these crazy bonuses doesn't make any sense at all...It's the middle class that keeps the economy going. By cutting their pay to $14 an hour is dumb. WHO is going to be able to afford these cars, home etc. at $14 an hours. Come on management, pretend this is YOUR money and let's see if you can straighten things out.. GET RID OF THE EXCESS WASTE NOW!!
