Big Daddy is Back on Track

Mopar drag racing legend “Big Daddy” Don Garlits puts his Dodge Challenger Drag Pak by Mopar through a test run at the World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Ill., on Saturday, Aug. 29.

 

It’s been six years since “Big Daddy” tore up the track.

But starting Wednesday, Don Garlits, the storied racer known as “Big Daddy,” will compete in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) U.S., marking his first appearance in the series since 2003.

I'm pretty sure hip Spanish-speakers don’t say “fresco” when colloquially referring to something that’s “cool.”  At the same time, I'm not sure exactly what is slang for cool in Mexico.  But whatever the proper translation is, it applies to this Spanish-language Dodge Journey ad, appropriately called “Enjoy the Journey."   The commercial, created by Chrysler Mexico with advertising agency BBDO, won an award from Mexican Association of Advertising Agencies as well as the Effie Award for 2009 from the New York chapter of the American Marketing Association, which recognizes great ideas that bring real results in effectively...

Chrysler Group To Expand Accepted Product Liability Claims

Auburn Hills, Mich. - 
In a letter sent today to Members of Congress, Chrysler Group LLC announced that the company will accept product liability claims on vehicles manufactured by Chrysler LLC (now OldCarco LLC) before June 10, 2009, and involved in accidents on or after that date. On June 10, 2009, Chrysler Group purchased substantially all of the assets of Old Carco.

A Joint Statement from Nissan and Chrysler Group LLC

The following is a joint statement from Nissan and Chrysler Group LLC:

 

Nissan and Chrysler Group LLC today announced a mutual agreement to end three OEM vehicle-supply projects announced last year. For the past several months, teams from both companies have been studying the viability of the projects in light of significant changes in business conditions since the projects were announced in January and April of 2008. 

 

Today, it was decided it was in the best interests of both companies to end the projects.
