A Special Edition of Under the Pentastar for the week of 5-21-10 as the company celebrates the launch of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as nearly 1,100 new jobs at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit that makes it.

Along with several shiny, all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokees on the plant floor, pride was on display today at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Pride in the plant, which has undergone an amazing transformation to a World Class Manufacturing facility. Pride in the first all-new vehicle to be produced there since Chrysler Group and Fiat Group formed an alliance nearly one year ago. And pride in a new era and a new future that is taking shape at Chrysler.

 Nearly every component in the 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee has been rethought, every design assumption challenged and no detail, no matter how small, left unexamined. It’s fitting that the same is true for the plant that makes it: the Jefferson North (Detroit) Assembly Plant.
