It's
car culture heaven this week in and around the Motor City.It's time again for the annual Woodward Dream Cruise -- where 1 million plus of your closest auto enthusiasts gather to cruise in their muscle cars and other classics, as well as the latest off the lot. Of course, there's plenty of catching up, swapping stories, sharing mod tips and showing off your ride.
Again, Chrysler Group will be out in full force and then some with our largest display ever at the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile in Royal Oak. Our Woodward Dream Cruise officially kicks off with our involvement in WWJ News Radio 950's Motor City Muscle panel discussion Friday morning. Vehicle Integration Responsible for the 2013 SRT Viper Erich Heuschele will join counterparts from Ford and GM for a Q&A session, 8-9:30 a.m. at Duggan's Irish Pub. (Click link for details.)
On Saturday, we'll have more than 75 vehicles on display, including the 2013 Dodge Dart Rally Car with 600 horsepower, the 2013 SRT Viper and more than a dozen classic Walter P. Chrysler Museum vehicles.
Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram, SRT and Fiat brands all will be well-represented, as well as Mopar with several Moparized cars and trucks. Visitors also can get an up-close look at the Ram Raminator Monster Truck.
In addition to all the automotive eye candy, Steve Magnante, a SPEED TV and freelance automotive reporter, and Dodge representatives will be crusing Woodward in a 1970 Dodge Polara looking to interview vintage and current Dodge vehicle owners. The interviews will be streamed live on the RedLine Dodge blog, starting Thursday and airing through Saturday.
In addition, be on the look out for the Dodge Charger Pursuit -- it's one police car you'll want to see in your rearview mirror.
To top off your WDC Things to Do list, you will have access to interactive display and mobile exhibits for hands-on demonstrations of Chrysler Group’s Uconnect technologies in the Uconnect trailer,and you can check outMopar performance parts at the Mopar Image Center trailer.
