Texas may be known for
“tall tales.” But the Jeep ‘sweep’ of
awards at the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Truck Rodeo
sure isn’t one of them.
When the dust finally cleared
after the rugged two-day event outside San Antonio, Jeep brand
vehicles, going head-to-head with the competition both on-and-off
-road, had won in every category they entered.
A tall order for any brand to
accomplish, but then Jeep Grand Cherokee has already earned
bragging rights as the most awarded SUV in history. And Jeep
Wrangler’s legendary off-road capability is … well,
legendary!
Over the years, the judges have
come to expect Jeep to do well at TAWA, says Jim Morrison, Director
of Jeep Product Marketing. But this year the brand changed it up a
bit on the capability side - fueling the Texas bragging
rights battle with something the judges and journalists were not
expecting.
