I honestly believe that one of the keys to success is marketing,
ads, and TV spots.
Bring back the HEMI guy ads and watch Dodge Rams fly off the
lots.
Also, Chrysler was in this position in the 80's, on the verge of
bankruptcy, and what saved them? The K-car. Build a modern K-car
for the masses! Once viability has been established, revive the
Plymouth as an entry level brand to compete directly in the small
car market. Dodge should focus on large trucks, SUV's, and
performance and muscle cars. Chrysler should shift in the same
direction as Cadillac. Pure luxury. Jeep should stay the
course.
Bob Nardelli should also do commercials like Lee Iacocca did in the
80's. Like this one for example:

Please do everything in your power to bring yourselves back from
the brink. When you do, buy Mercedes, and run them off a cliff and
see how they like it!
Mopar or no car!

seriously you think taking out light bulbs and not removing snow or lowering the thermometer will solve the problem?? you are in serious trouble I think you should come down out of the clouds and view the reality of the situation here. the things you are listing are laughable, things that a good ( and I stress GOOD) citizen did a couple of years ago to help the environment and save money. Shutting down to save 250,000 hahaha the cost of a couple of vehicles! pittance I say, what about the blow you gave the economy by forcing all those employees to stay home and not spend ??Try producing a vehicle that is ahead of the curve not holding the curve back to keep things in the status quo. Maybe listen to your line workers and their ideas instaed of over paid engineers who can only do math. Ask the public and do what is right not what works!!! this attitude of doing what works is like dragging your butt to school crying ! maybe an electric vehicle! for the thirtieth year now we have wanted this option for a better environment and you said NO well say NO all you want now live and learn, adapt and overcome, go with the flow, can i say it any plainer??
Although Joris Dad was a bit rough in his assessment part of what he said was true, talking to the line workers, mechanics, and customers is a way to gauge what people want and what will work. Often i have worked on a vehicle (not just mopar but all the brands) and wondered what the heck the engineer that designed it was thinking or what drugs he was taking to think that this could ever be easily worked on. How many volkswagons were sold?? Do you know why? They were simple cars that were efficient and reasonably easy to work on. Although today is different with all the emissions etc but a neon type vehicle should be easy to work on, as it is you have to practically take the engine out to change the serpentine and you HAVE to take the engine out to replace the timing chain/belt. Remember the KISS methodology. I am one that is more in line with Mopar man in that i hope that you guys get it together and come back, especially the part about running mercedes off a cliff. I will forever encourage anyone i know to not buy a mercedes as often as i can.
