Mid-January temps were flirting with a balmy 60 degrees on Tues., Jan. 8, but that didn’t keep thousands of diehard ‘technophiles’ from streaming into the Las Vegas Convention Center on opening day of the 2013 Consumer Electronic Show (CES).
They came to the world’s largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology to see and experience the newest, the latest, the cleverest, even the most way-out-there digital technology offered by more than 2,700 exhibitors under one roof.

Chrysler's Uconnect system is one of six finalists for AOL Auto's inaugural Technology of the Year award, as initially announced last week during the LA Auto Show.
Twelve judges from AOL Autos, Autoblog and Engadget selected the six finalists in three categories and now -- through Dec. 12, 2012 -- it's up to the public to vote.
According to AOL Autos Editor-in-Chief David Kiley, Uconnect received an "overwhelming amount of support" from the judges. In fact, as Kiley says in the video below, Uconnect was "a fan favorite with our judges."

They come from everywhere imaginable — from down the street and from crosstown, from out of town and out of state, from around the country and around the world — all descending on a stretch of Woodward Avenue in southeast Michigan from Pontiac to the State Fair Grounds in Detroit.
