Chrysler Group Supports Detroit Design Festival

A white SRT Viper served as a multimedia canvas during the Detroit Design Festival kick-off party.

Detroit's design community is vibrant, ground-breaking and growing beyond its traditional automotive roots. Helping drive that growth and generate greater exposure for new designers is the mission of the Detroit Creative Corridor Center.

The Chrysler Group joined that effort with a prime sponsorship role for the 2013 Detroit Design Festival, five days of gallery shows, seminars, walking tours and demonstrations in central Detroit that ran from Sept. 17-22.

Fighting Hunger One Can at a Time

Chrysler Group employees walked door-to-door in local neighborhoods. No, they weren’t selling vehicles; they were instead collecting food to help fight hunger in Metro Detroit.

“One in five people in Metro Detroit faces hunger on a daily basis. Even more startling is the fact that one in four of our children simply doesn’t know where their next meal will come from,” said Jody Trapasso, Vice President External Affairs – Chrysler Group LLC and President of The Chrysler Foundation. “It is our hope that by partnering with Gleaners, we can help eliminate this uncertainty for thousands of children and their families.”

United Way Hockey Challenge Reaches 60% of Goal – With Two Games Remaining!

The first game the United Way Hockey Challenge is in the record books, leaving more than $7,500 on the books of the United Way of Southeastern Michigan.

That’s more than 60% of the $12,000 goal set by event organizers – with two games remaining!

Stepping Up for Scholarships in Detroit

It's amazing what a little competition can do for one's health.

Vickie Thomas, WWJ Newsradio 950 city reporter and president of the Detroit Chapter-National Association of Black Journalists, said the Chrysler 30 Day Step into Fitness and Wellness program is “very, very, very competitive, but in a fun way. Someone is always trying to catch someone else or maintain their position. I love it!”
