By now you’ve probably heard. Tomorrow - Wednesday, Nov. 4 - is a big day for Chrysler Group LLC and its future.  The doors to Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI will swing wide for hundreds of analysts and members of the global media for nearly the entire whole day.

Ram Ranked as Best Truck Ever (No Exaggeration)

The "best ever" - it's a trite phrase. But owners spoke up, and what they said indicates that Chrysler Group LLC is headed in the right direction.

The Dodge Ram scored the highest scored the highest Total Quality score ever for a truck in the 15-year history of Strategic Vision Inc.’s study. The Total Quality Index (TQI) surveys owners to rate all aspects of the ownership experience from buying and owning to performance and driving.

Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge Brands Improve Quality in Study

J.D. Power and Associates released its benchmark study on initial vehicle quality today, and the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands all showed improvement. In fact, the Chrysler Group improved faster than the industry as a whole.

 

“Even in the face of unprecedented challenges, the Detroit automakers are keeping their focus on designing and building high-quality vehicles, which is a precondition for long-term success,” David Sargent, vice president of automotive research at J.D. Power and Associates, said in a press release.

 

The J.D. Power study surveys vehicle owners and leasees after 90 days of ownership, asking about 228 possible problems in their vehicles.

Sales Hit Six Month High

For the first time since last September, Chrysler LLC vehicle sales hit the 100,000 unit mark last month.  Total sales in March were 101,001 units. 

Highlights:

Dodge Ram sales up 34 percent compared with February, 2009.

Jeep®Wrangler sales up 16 percent from March, 2008.

Dodge Journey sales up 127 percent from March, 2008.

Some other good news from the March sales report:

Fleet sales down 44 percent as Chrysler focuses on retail over fleet sales.

Internal warranty data shows we've achieved the lowest claim rate in Chrysler history with a 30 percent improvement over the past 12 months.
