Chrysler Group Engaging More Minority Suppliers for 2010 'Matchmaker'

For the last 11 years, Matchmaker has grown into Chrysler Group’s premier networking event in the supplier diversity community focused on providing minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses access to Chrysler Group's Tier 1 suppliers and the Company's purchasing community. And there’s a very good reason for this successful run: Matchmaker works.

Since 1983, company has sourced $41 billion to minority-owned businesses and in 2008 the company spent $3.9 billion with minority suppliers, representing 16.1 percent of Chrysler Group’s total annual purchasing.

Domestic automakers moved up in the J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study (IQS) for the 2010 model year, and Chrysler Chrysler Group vehicles were no exception.

 

The Ram, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands are continuing to improve at a rate faster than the competition, said Doug Betts.. It marks the second consecutive year that Chrysler Group vehicles have exceeded the industry’s rate of improvement.
