Congressmen Get Charge Out of Fiat Electra by Ed Garsten January 26, 2010 9:58 PM The Washington DC Auto Show opens to the public Wednesday, but ahead of the masses, two important members of Congress came calling. U.S. Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Chairman of the Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee. U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) a member of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce popped over to the Washington Convention Center on Tuesday and spent a few minutes giving the Fiat Electra...a battery powered version of the Fiat 500, a close look. Battery Supplier for ENVI Vehicles Named by Ed Garsten April 6, 2009 8:45 AM Chrysler announced today it's signed an agreement with A123Systems for it to produce batteries that will power Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep® electric vehicles, developed by our ENVI unit. The Nanophosphate LIthium ion prismatic battery cells will be produced at a facility A123Systems plans to build in Michigan. The heart of ENVI’s battery system is a scalable battery module, as demonstrated in ENVI’s five electric-drive vehicles showcased at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
