The dog days of summer are officially here as the July sun sets into August. That means it's more important than ever to take extra precaution to help save children from heatstroke. Today, Chrysler Group joins the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in a discussion focused on raising awareness about the dangers of kids in cars, as well as preventing heatstroke.

Dodge Dart hits the bull's-eye ... again

Dodge Dart, the most award-winning vehicle in its class, continues to hit the bull's-eye when it comes to accolades.

Just this week, the 2014 Dodge Dart topped J.D. Power's 2014 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study in the highly competitive compact car segment. It surpassed 19 other vehicles in the segment, including the second- and third-ranked Volkswagen Beetle and Nissan Sentra.

One Week of Information Can Mean A Lifetime for A Child

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children from 1 to 13 years of age, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In 2011, more than one-third of children killed in car accidents were not in car seats or not wearing seatbelts, according to NHTSA.

Car seats reduce the risk of death in cars by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. In pickups and vans, they reduce the risk by 58% for infants and 59% for toddlers. Those stats are also according to NHTSA.

Voluntary safety recall of 1.56 million 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-07 Jeep Liberty vehicles

Chrysler Group will conduct a voluntary safety recall of 1.56 million 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-07 Jeep Liberty vehicles for supplemental improvement in low-speed crashes. All 1.56 million vehicles will be inspected. If a vehicle doesn’t have a trailer-hitch assembly, Chrysler Group dealers will install a new trailer-hitch assembly to better manage crash forces in low-speed impacts.
