What’s in a name? For automakers, the more relevant question might be what isn’t! A nameplate, after all, is the critical ‘first contact’ customers experience with a new model - even before it hits showrooms.
Often that name comes steeped in a rich history that immediately evokes a positive emotional connection. Think, for example, Viper or Challenger or the Chrysler 300 Ruyi design concept unveiled in Beijing last month.

Americans know it: Jeep® is as iconic a name as any in the automotive world.
And the world knows it as well. Of Chrysler Group's various brands, Jeep is the most global. During 2011, 108,649 Jeep vehicles were sold outside of North America.
While the U.S. and Canada are the top two markets, which country is #3 for Jeep brand?
Answer: China, with 22,294 sold last year, up 81% from 2010. Through the date of this blog post, we've already sold 10,477 Jeep vehicles in China during 2012.

Olympic Gold at end of long Journey

That was easier than driving to Brazil. Months after traveling all the way to Rio in a Dodge Journey for a rematch (in our fictitious ad), the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team beat the Brazilians in Beijing, winning the Olympic gold medal in the process. The gold made up for the 4-0 loss to Brazil during the World Cup last year.
To congratulate the U.S. women, Dodge is updating the commercial “Team” again, highlighting the U.S. 1-0 victory.
There’s some good news for the Brazilian women – they can get their own good luck token from Dodge. The all-new 2009...
