1 and 39: Chrysler Canada Keeps Its Streaks Alive

Not to be out-done by its southern sibling, Chrysler Canada continued its hot sales streak of 39 consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth in February while keeping its #1 spot as Canada’s largest automaker.

Last month, Chrysler Canada had sales of 16,832 for a +2% growth.

While the regulars were among the top volume sales leaders, Chrysler Canada’s cars again led the growth:
  • Chrysler 200 (sedan and convertible) with 705 sold for +2%,
  • Dodge Avenger with 529 sold for +65%
  • Dodge Dart with 510 sold, which are all new sales compared to February 2012

No Stopping This Sales Streak

Chrysler Group sales chief Reid Bigland has called it the “ironman” streak — 34 straight months of sales gains.

But despite last month’s cautious words from Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne during a 2012 earnings call, the company’s February U.S. sales remained strong and increased over 2012 February sales, pushing the streak to 35. The final tally for the month was 139,015 cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles sold, for a 4% increase.

Dodge Has Four of 10 Top Sellers in November; Leads Sales Charge

With a 32% growth in November 2012 U.S. sales and four of Chrysler Group's top 10-selling vehicles, the Dodge brand was in the driver's seat for the company's sales last month.

With Dodge brand's November sales of 40,075 units -- plus 32% over 11/2011 -- Chrysler Group U.S. sales last month came in at 122,565, for a plus 14% over November 2011. It was the 32nd straight month of year-over-year sales increase.

Chrysler Group U.S. Sales Already Top 2011 Total

As Chrysler Group cars, trucks and SUVs keep rolling on the roadways, our positive sales momentum in the U.S. also keeping motoring along.

For the 31st straight month, Chrysler Group had positive, year-over-year sales growth with October 2012 sales of 126,185 cars, trucks, SUVs and cross-overs. That's a healthy 10% improvement over October 2011.

Already in 2012 -- with our total U.S. vehicle sales through the end of October reaching 1,376,855 -- we've topped all of 2011 sales by almost 10,000 vehicles.
