Dodge Journey Treks to Record Sales Month

Sales for the Dodge Journey rose some 93 percent in November compared with the same month last year.  In case you’re wondering, yes, that constitutes a new monthly sales record for the crossover.

Journey’s uptick no doubt contributed to Chrysler Group LLC’s monthly increase in market share. At the close of November, Chrysler’s domestic market share has increased to 8.4 percent, compared with 7.7% last month.

The company’s U.S. sales of tally of 63,560 units in November represented a 25 percent decline versus the previous November. Still, several vehicles across the lineup reported the double dip of year-over-year and month-over-month sales increases....

IIHS Pres.: Chrysler Shows 'Most Improvement' For 2010

Here’s a statistic for you: For the 2010 model year, Chrysler Group LLC products make up nearly 15 percent of the total vehicles named Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Specifically, the IIHS selected the 2010 Jeep® Patriot, 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2010 Dodge Avenger and 2010 Dodge Journey for the awards.  That makes two years running for the Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger and Dodge Journey as IIHS safety choices for both the 2009 and 2010 model years.  The awards also represent the latest tangible example of the company’s commitment to both safety and quality.

Sales Hit Six Month High

For the first time since last September, Chrysler LLC vehicle sales hit the 100,000 unit mark last month.  Total sales in March were 101,001 units. 

Highlights:

Dodge Ram sales up 34 percent compared with February, 2009.

Jeep®Wrangler sales up 16 percent from March, 2008.

Dodge Journey sales up 127 percent from March, 2008.

Some other good news from the March sales report:

Fleet sales down 44 percent as Chrysler focuses on retail over fleet sales.

Internal warranty data shows we've achieved the lowest claim rate in Chrysler history with a 30 percent improvement over the past 12 months.
