Fiat 500 Grabs Ooohs and Ahhs at Concorso Italiano

The version of the Fiat 500 that will be sold soon in North America has yet to show its diminutive face, but when the European version made its appearance at this weekend's Concorso Italiano at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch near Monterey, CA, fans of the brand, and the 500, were ready to dance a tarantella.

The Envelope Please: Fiat Turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir Wins Engine of the Year

Calling it “the single most innovative technology to appear in the last 12 months” the International Engine of the Year Awards organization has named Fiat’s 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir™ the Best New Engine of 2010.

 

To quote the organization, the 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir: “is particularly special because it is able to increase power and torque while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The concept is therefore ideal for today’s world of eco-conscious, downsized automotive powertrains.”

 

The International Engine of the Year Awards are judged by a panel of 65 automotive journalists from 32 countries.
