The Ram Truck Brand respects the commitment and courage that U.S. soldiers give to this country each day. Our company has been steadfast in its support of America's armed services. That’s why we want to encourage all Americans to show their appreciation to the enlisted men and women serving our country, separated from their family and friends.

I’m really proud that the Ram Truck Brand, with our new friends the Zac Brown Band, is able to kick off something called “Letters for Lyrics.”

Letters for Lyrics is a great program that supports American troops stationed around the world. Working together with the Zac Brown Brand and the nonprofit Soldiers’ Angels, our goal is to deliver more than one million letters.

Here’s how it works: Write a letter to a soldier. Bring it to a Ram Truck or a Dodge dealer. Drop your letter at the special dealership collection point, and with our appreciation, pick up a great music CD featuring three new songs from the Zac Brown Brand as well as Southern Ground recording artists Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey. You can also drop your letter off at any Zac Brown Band concert.

These letters will help brighten a soldier’s day or bring encouragement to someone who needs a lift.

I’ve also got to hand it to the Zac Brown Band. If you hadn’t heard, the band recently returned from their first USO Tour of the Persian Gulf. They’ve been out there supporting our troops with visits and performances in Iraq and Afganistan – even to the point of missing this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. Starting next week, you’ll be able to watch and exclusive documentary of their trip on RamTrucks.com.

On a personal note: If you haven’t checked out the Zac Brown Band yet, give them a listen. I love this CD. It’s a great compilation of music. Watch for their Breaking Southern Ground tour this spring and summer. Maybe I’ll see you there.
