For the second year in a row, the Ram 1500 was honored by AUTOMOBILE Magazine and named a 2011 AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star.
"The Ram 1500 scored its second All-Star award in two
years by combining a tough-truck soul with the creature comforts of
a large family sedan,” the editors said. “The
Ram’s cabin excels in attention to detail. Instruments are
clearly marked, and the cup holders and storage locations are
bountiful. Crew cabs have in-floor bins, and the handy RamBox
option converts normally wasted bed-sidewall space into secure
storage lockers.”
Both Ford and GM pickups were included in the AUTOMOBILE
Magazine tests.
According to the review by AUTOMOBILE Magazine Technical Editor Don Sherman:
Like most pickup-truck owners, we've spent the majority of our
miles in Rams without cargo in the bed or a trailer in tow. The
beauty of this beast is its ability to fly over tattered pavement
without the wonky humping and jumping that plagues leaf-spring
trucks. Add the 390-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine, and the Ram
performs a superhero routine.
Since its introduction in 2008 as an all-new 2009 model, the Ram 1500 has won dozens of major automotive awards, including many of the industry’s most significant honors such as Strategic Vision’s Total Quality Award (the highest Total Quality score of any truck in the 15-year history of the study) and the Texas Auto Writers Association Truck of Texas. It remains the most awarded Ram Truck ever.
In 2011, the Ram Truck brand continues to build on the Ram 1500. The Ram Laramie Longhorn edition and Ram Outdoorsman (pictured) are the newest members of the Ram truck family and offer their own unique features.
