a treat! I drove a 2012 Dodge Charger R/T with a 5.7-liter HEMI

My maternal grandfather worked for Chrysler in machine repair at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant, the old “Dodge Main” for 40 years and my mom drove a powder blue 1967 Dodge Charger like this one http://bit.ly/wRKkCr when I was a youngster. When my parents were married they decorated and drove her Charger for the festivities. My mom also got her first (and only) speeding ticket while driving it, and $7 a week filled her gas tank!
Driving the Charger was an experience I won’t soon forget: It connected the past with the present. Just sitting in the car triggered fond childhood memories of cruising around with my parents. Top to bottom, the performance of the car was outstanding. Pickup (or giddy up if you will) was fast - great caution was exercised in staying within posted speed limits.
The ride was sweet and smooth; the Charger handles like a champ. The interior design is fantastic and the performance cloth heated seats were warm and comfortable. The Alpine Sound System blew my hair back and left my ears ringing, as the Rolling Stones said “It’s only rock and roll but I like it.”
The gas mileage was impressive; I did plenty of driving and it took a while to move the needle on the gas gauge. The Fuel Saver Technology, which allows the engine to shift between four and eight cylinders based on driving input, proved its efficiency.
From a technology perspective, the Uconnect® system was convenient and worked very well. My favorite features were voice activated calling, volume and radio station controls on the steering wheel and the keyless start.
