New York is not traditionally known as a car town, at least when compared to Detroit or Los Angeles. But that reputation – deserved or not – doesn’t appear to be getting in the way of all the fun expected at the 2012 New York International Auto Show.
Along with the new reveals, the concepts and the show biz glitz that only The Big Apple can provide, two vehicles under the Chrysler Group banner will be introduced – the new 2013 Ram 1500 and the new 2013 SRT Viper.
The 1500 is the Ram Truck brand’s latest entry into the ultra-competitive full-size, light-duty pickup truck segment. The new truck represents the brand’s first iteration to its most recognized truck since the inception of the Ram nameplate in 2011.
The SRT Viper features a hand-assembled 8.4-liter all-aluminum V-10 engine that is the culmination of years of consistent improvement. The interior offers superior craftsmanship, blending new premium surfaces with thoughtfully applied color and material choices.
The Viper will be introduced to the worldwide media this morning at 11:55 a.m. ET, and the 2013 Ram 1500 will have its unveiling the following day, starting at 11:05 a.m. ET.. And on the eve of the show, both vehicles are creating quite a buzz.
Media previews are April 4 and 5. A public sneak preview will be held April 6, and the show is open to everyone April 7 through April 15 at the Jacob Javits Center.
The first New York show was in 1900. It is the longest established automotive exhibition of its kind in North America.
