New York is not traditionally known as a car town, at least when
compared to Detroit or Los Angeles. But that reputation –
deserved or not – doesn’t appear to be getting in the
way of all the fun expected at the 2012 New York International Auto
Along with the new reveals, the concepts and the show biz glitz
that only The Big Apple can provide, two vehicles under the
Chrysler Group banner will be introduced – the new 2013 Ram
1500 and the new 2013 SRT Viper.
The 1500 is the Ram Truck brand’s latest entry into the
ultra-competitive full-size, light-duty pickup truck segment. The
new truck represents the brand’s first iteration to its most
recognized truck since the inception of the Ram nameplate in
The SRT Viper features a hand-assembled 8.4-liter all-aluminum V-10
engine that is the culmination of years of consistent improvement.
The interior offers superior craftsmanship, blending new premium
surfaces with thoughtfully applied color and material
will be introduced to the worldwide media this morning at 11:55
a.m. ET, and the 2013
Ram 1500 will have its unveiling the following day, starting at
11:05 a.m. ET.. And on the eve of the show, both vehicles are
creating quite a buzz.
Media previews are April 4 and 5. A public sneak preview will be
held April 6, and the show is open to everyone April 7 through
April 15 at the Jacob Javits Center.
The first New York show was in 1900. It is the longest established
automotive exhibition of its kind in North America.
