Thousands of people around the country are impacted by the downturn in the auto industry.
Detroit radio station WCSX 94.7 FM put faces on those numbers with their "Faces Not Numbers" campaign, inspired by the Bob Seger song "Feel Like a Number", the morning team of Jeff Deminski and Bill Doyle collected more than 4,000 pictures of people associated with the auto industry and put them on a 100-foot long banner.
The banner, showing real people including families and children, was unveiled on Tuesday in front of Chrysler’s assembly plant in Sterling Heights, Mich. Deminski and Doyle intend to take the banner to Washington, D.C. on Thursday and show the banner to Congressional Representatives and other government officials in order to win government support for the auto industry.
