Given what was said in the video, I don't see how it is possible for Chrysler to close Fredericks CJD in Boardman OH. Bob's dealership has the best customer service I (and hundres of others) have ever encountered, and Chrysler should be asking him to run their dealer network, not excluding him from it. In an article for a local area paper (Note they don't mention that Fredericks is an Elite 5-Star dealership, meaing he's in the top 2% for customer satisfaction). Chrysler wants dealers to have all three of its brands under its roof. Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge, 7871 Market St., has all of them. Chrysler wants only dealers that sell more than 100 new vehicles a year. Frederick sold 636 new vehicles last year. Chrysler wants only dealers who sell more new vehicles than used vehicles. Frederick does that. Chrysler does not want its brands to be housed in dealerships that offer brands of other automakers. Frederick sells only Chrysler products. Frederick said he is in the midst of a $1 million remodeling effort.
I have owned a Dodge for the past 15 years and I am very dissappointed at Chryslers decision to close local dealers. I had a very good report with my dealer Joe Kidd Dodge. Just so you know you have lost several customers in Mu area. Mike
If the dealers that were cut were so unprofitable, then why was it that Chrysler went bankrupt while the dealers managed to make a profit year after year, even and including the downturn. Four Archer Chrysler/Jeep dealers were closed in Houston, leaving us with no one to service our vehicle, while a competing West Houston Dodge (and Chevy) dealer was left standing. I know that Archer is a contributor to the Republicans; wonder if Samuel is a Democrat contributor. I suspect satisfaction, etc was NOT a criteria as evidenced by the Fredericks - perhaps he too was Republican
I don't blame Chrysler for not wanting to have dealerships sell other competing brands with theirs. You don't open a McDonalds and sell burgerking along side at the same time! It's a conflict of interest! Chrysler needs to be smaller, leaner and meaner for their survival! I support their effort in the dealer closings!
