Fascinating that Chrysler would close successful dealerships that are making money all under the 'guise' of bankrupcy. At the same time advertising chrysler - gotta say not sure chrysler deserves to survive (even though it has my taxpayer money) I just dont think that Ownership /Snr Management is in touch with reality - why did Chrysler Fail? ----- it made cars/trucks that consumers did not want.........plain business......oh and that all important word 'relationships'........

I don't know, gabrieldanaher ... I wouldn't mind having an SRT-8 vehicle in my garage, whether it's a Challenger, Charger, 300C or Jeep Grand Cherokee, with the Challenger being my personal favorite. The only reason I can't get one is because I'm not in a position to buy any vehicle, much less buy one from Chrysler. In any case, I, for one, would like the new Chrysler Group LLC to stick around just a little longer.

Chrysler got rid of those dealships because they did cost the company up to $1 billion a year. because they had to make many diffrent models for the diffrent brands. take the cailber for example they had to make a jeep version of it ( the compass) just for the jeep dealerships that did not also sell dodge brand. they didnt just get rid of dealership for fun they had to. why do you think GM is doing it. by the way when is the new 300C going to debut.

Unfortunately it seems that gabrieldanaher.....is very jaded! It seems that the dealers that Chrysler cut accounted for less than 15% of total car sales! You call that selling cars??? Also they sold competing brands at the same time! Wrong thing to do!!! As for not making vehicles that people want.....you're mistaken and jaded! Chryler sells about 2 MILLION vehicles per year! Millions of people drive Chrysler vehicles every day, and love them! Also Chrysler actually gained market share from 9.6 in 2008 to 12.5 in 2009! So more & more people are purchasing Chrysler vehicles than ever! Also as for Chrysler failing, they didn't! The system failed them! Chrysler was bogged down with legecy costs, that cost them billions every year for past employees, which made the selling prices more than competing brands, who have no legacy costs, and don't even hire union employees! So don't take jaded peoples opinions like gabrieldanaher, he has no idea about how much Chrysler contributes to our economy and has enriched millions of Americans lives for the better! Once again Thanks Chrysler for all the great vehicles, and thinking outside the box!

I have been a Chrysler Product owner (first car - 1955 Plymouth, latest - 2 Dodge Caravans - current) for many years. I received a promo letter and that is what prompted me to write. I think the two least competent entities to run a Company would be the government and the unions. I don't see a future there and would not buy a car from that Company. GM is in the same boat. It is a shame what has happened, but it is what it is. Good Luck on making it work.

You know, I'm getting tired of the statements that Chrysler was making cars people did not want. What does that say about Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, BMW, Merecedes, Subaru, Suziki, Hyundai, Kia.....

I hope Chrysler goes back to making more muscle cars at a more affordable price. Chrysler needs to increase production of the Challlenger and offer more high impact colors. I should be able to go to the Dodge dealer and have a choice of mutiple colors and any option I want . That is the way it was in 1970. I would like to have a B5 blue Challenger or a Sublime car (if Dodge ever produces it) but the B5 blue SR-T is going for crazy money on Ebay. Car companies seem to produce way too many cars that no one wants and very few of the great cars like the B5 blue Challenger. It needs to change. Make more muscle cars and make them affordable so someday the regular guy can buy a Challenger at the dealer instead of the rich car collector winning the bid on Ebay for way over sticker. The Challenger is a winner. Keep up the good work, just up the production. I like how everyone is complaining that car sales are down and people are waiting in line for the Muscle cars. I went to the local dealer here in WV and there wasn't a customer on the lot but the orange SR-T Challenger was in the showroom for $54000. This is why the car business is in trouble......

Chrysler needs to focus on their best selling models (Ram, Minivans, Jeep) and where owner loyalty is present (Charger, Challenger, Viper). This is where Chrylser shines in innovation and performance. Everyone, including non-car people, know that these are Chrylser's best vehicles. Continue to improve the quality of these vehicles and stop making the others (Caliber, Compass, Sebring, Nitro, etc). You also need to focus on building a line of next generation hybrid or all electric vehicles that will meet federal guidelines and help the environment. I love the new ENVI line-up! I have a new Charger Daytona and would love to purchase an all electric vehicle from Chrysler for daily commutes. I love the performance and design of the Charger but know that we need to make some sacrifices for the environment. There is a heritage of great vehicles from Chrysler and I think the company would benefit greatly from a combination of both performance and environmentally friendly vehicles.

I am ready for a new ENVI vehicle. It will serve me well on in-town driving.

It's comments like Tom Reeves that really tick me off, you wish the best for Chrysler but won't buy from them because the Gov, and Unions have stake in them. Need I remind him that your Asian auto company got Gov, help from there countries too. We would perfer to see all the foreign trans plant do good and let all the big three plant go because our Gov help them. Let's just raise the flag of the Raising Sun over our state now, because people like Tom will support them and not his own, when we are in trouble.

Chrysler just needs 3 things to lead the entire world auto industry: 1. The BEST quality in the industry. 2. A well rounded & competitive vehicle lineup. (including Hybrids & Electrics) 3. Recognition & Advancement for workers & managers based on performance! If any company can bounce back it's Chrysler! With the Fiat & Chrysler combo, it can be a reality.

With all due respect to the other comments - not all the dealerships chosen for closure were not selling or meeting quota's . Why did Chrysler ask those dealerships to stock up and then with a 'letter' advise them they had x weeks to close out with no option to sell back the inventory just purchased. Interestngly some of these same dealers are running very successfuly other brands. Professional and ethical business is what this is about - and No - GM is not any better but at least appear to be trying to close out unprofitable businesses in partnership with the dealers. While the comments on 'legacy' costs are admirable it begs the question who was running the company? Thats what this is about - If there were not a financial crisis and money dried up nothing would have changed.....sorry FORD is the winner in all this, they put someone in charge who wanted to make a 'successful' car company.....and if i am not correct Ford was able to to fix the same 'legacy' issues......GO FORD!!!!
