The awards recognizing Chrysler Group LLC’s commitment to diversity continue to roll in. The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) has named Chrysler Group “Corporation of the Year,” honoring the automaker’s above-and-beyond commitment to supply chain diversity, and to help develop both Canadian Aboriginal and minority-owned businesses.
In fact, Chrysler Group has consistently put its commitment into action, and in the last several years has increased its procurement to Aboriginal and visible minority-owned businesses in Canada to more than $464 million. That was made possible thanks to a variety of Chrysler Group initiatives, including the annual Matchmaker event, which is designed to link minority suppliers with company’s procurement, engineering and marketing divisions as well as to provide exposure to the larger Tier 1 supplier community. “We are inspired by the efforts of companies like Chrysler Group, who stay true to their values in challenging times that the pursuit of supplier diversity is invaluable to our mutual economic future,” Orrin Benn, President of CAMSC, which presented the award to Chrysler on Tuesday evening in Toronto.
