Under the Pentastar is a quick video wrap of significant events at Chrysler Group LLC over the past week. This week's edition features highlights from a press conference with Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne following the presentation of the Company's 2010-2014 Business Plan.
I agree with mreging the Lancia line with Chrysler lines, that makes sense! As far as badging Chryslers as lancias and vice versa, I don't know how that will play out in the future. I'd like to see not only the Jeep line sold world wide, but either Chrysler brand or Dodge brands as well! I'm leaning towards the Chrysler line, because that's the Name sake brand as well as the name of the entire organization, so people like a brand with a long history such as Chrysler. Marchionne is a smart man, he's doing everything right! He now needs a "CAR GUY" To head the Chrysler part while he's over seas at Fiat, as it's impossible to manage both at the same time! I'd Suggest Bob Lutz or Wofgang Bernhard. The more heads the better, but ultimately it's in Marchionnes hands to make this work! Prove the industry wrong and do it! Start with the Quality, then the Product, then expand the market share! That's how you win customers & beat the competition!
GREAT PLAN FOR THE MANUFACTURING SIDE OF THE COMPANY. HOWEVER, AS A JEEP SALESMAN FOR THE LAST TWENTY YEARS, WE NEED CHRYSLER TO ADDRESS THE LACK OF COMPETITIVE LEASING PROGRAMS. EVERYDAY WE WATCH CUSTOMERS RETURN THEIR CHRYSLER VEHICLES AND DRIVE AWAY IN A HONDA ,TOYOTA,ETC. THE CONSUMER NEEDS A PAYMENT OF $350-$400 PER MONTH WITH $2000 DOWN. CHRYSLER DOES NOT OFFER EVEN ONE MODEL THAT ACHIEVES THAT. MR MARCHIONNE HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO ALLOW LOSING LOYAL JEEP CUSTOMERS TO COMPETITIVE BRANDS?
I have full faith that Mr. Marchione will turn Chrysler around...I hope he will stop the crazy bonuses though...To cut the line workers pay to $14 an hour and yet allow the executives millions of dollars in bonuses is totally crazy. One exec in ONE YEAR made $50,000,000!!! Why is that even allowed? The profit that Chrysler makes should be banked for a rainy day, not given away like that. How is someone whose making $14 an hour suppose to afford a car, home, etc.? It's the middle class that keeps our economy going. Cut out the waste. Management need to act like they are spending their own money and I bet you there will be less waste. Look at the big picture, guys. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Look at this as a group project, NOT a solo thing...You can't just look out for yourself...That is a selfish thing to do...
