Future of Viper

Any doubts about the future of Dodge Viper? Wipe 'em away. Here's what Dodge President and CEO Ralph Gilles told the media today out at the Laguna Seca race course in Salinas, CA...the same day the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR set a production car lap record at the track.

OK, color me confused, the title and text talk about the "Future" of Viper, however, in the video, Ralph is talking about the last 500 Vipers. Something we already learned in the Plan. So what "doubts" are we to have? Viper is ending after 500 more units, the only doubts or questions are what will be the replacement in 2012, Iconic American Halo car, or Euro rebadge? Everything I've read about Viper, shows that it is profitable, why kill it?

Let's just say it's the end of the current generation of Viper, Norm. You know we can't spill much about future product, but as you say, this one's a winner.

I'm hoping that the next generation Viper is drastically better than the current generation ( although that's going to be hard to do). We want the same styling, and a evolution of the current car. Not something different! Also it should be a pure MOPAR with Chrysler parts!!! Everyone loves the Viper! And by selling more of them, Chrysler will sell more vehicles overall! Let's make the new one have a larger production stream!
